It took 14 weeks, but Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon finally got his first interception in the 2025 NFL season – and what a way it was for him to get one at least.

Nixon made the biggest defensive play of Green Bay’s Week 14 game at Lambeau Field against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

On a 4th-and-1 and with only under 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Williams tried to toss a pass to Chicago tight end Cole Kmet, but Nixon was there not just to break things up, but to intercept the pass to virtually seal the game in favor of Green Bay.

Nixon gets praise from Packers’ Micah Parsons after Week 14 win

After such a defensive gem by Nixon that largely helped Green Bay get back to the top of the NFC North standings, Packers superstar defensive end Micah Parsons hopes that the negative noise about the defensive back would vanish – or turn into appreciation.

“I think people give him a lot of [expletive], but he’s having a hell of a year and he’s having a better year than some of the highest-paid guys, so I think people should give him more grace than what’s been given to him,” Parsons said of Nixon after the game (via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic).

A two-time All-Pro as a kick returner, Nixon has also flourished as a regular defensive back for Green Bay over the last two seasons. Although he only has an interception to show so far in the 2025 NFL season, he has 16 passes defended, currently tied for second in the entire league.

Given the success he is having in the position, the three-year contract worth $18 million that he signed with Green Bay in 2024 seems like a bargain at this point for Nixon, who has a 67.1 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus.
