The incident occurred during the Week 6 matchup against the Detroit Lions, where the Chiefs secured a 30–17 victory. Two loyal fans — a man and a woman — were asked to leave their seats for what stadium officials described as “excessive standing” and “disrupting the enjoyment of others.”

The video, posted on TikTok by @mattchewt785, quickly went viral, showing the stunned fans calmly questioning why cheering for their team was considered a violation. Within hours, thousands of Chiefs supporters flooded social media in outrage, demanding justice and tagging

On Wednesday morning, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt personally reached out through the team’s fan relations department, offering the couple free season tickets for the remainder of the 2025 campaign, along with an invitation to attend next week’s Monday Night Football game vs. the Commanders as honored guests of the organization.

In a heartfelt statement shared by the team, Hunt said:

“At Arrowhead, we pride ourselves on having the loudest, most passionate fans in football. Cheering for your team — standing, shouting, celebrating — that’s what makes this place special. No one should ever feel punished for showing love to the Chiefs.”
