The suit claims that Ms. Saxs was terminated after raising concerns about sanitation, food safety and the treatment of female employees.

The Trump Organization, which owns and operates Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the lawsuit. Legal experts note that employment retaliation claims hinge on whether a plaintiff can demonstrate that protected activity — such as reporting health and safety violations — was a motivating factor in their dismissal. If substantiated, such claims can expose employers to significant liability, particularly when public health issues are involved.

Beyond its legal implications, the lawsuit has raised questions about oversight at high-end private clubs that cater to wealthy and influential clientele. Health inspectors rely in part on internal reporting to identify risks, and retaliation against whistleblowers can make it more difficult to detect and correct violations before they escalate.

For residents of Bedminster, the case has drawn renewed attention to a property that has long been a focal point of national politics.
