Against all odds, the ever-outspoken and controversial Colin Cowherd has issued an apology to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who’s turned back the clock with an impressive start to his 21st season in the league.

Earlier in the week, Cowherd wrote several “apology letters” to big names across the NFL — particularly those his criticisms had missed the mark on — with the first just so happening to be directed at Rodgers.

“The first one I wrote, I wrote to Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron doesn’t like me — and that’s okay, a lot of people don’t like me,” Cowherd said via his podcast The Herd. “But I wrote to Aaron. I said, ‘Listen, dear Aaron Rodgers, I was wrong to call you a snarky, prickly, weird uncle. You are a baller, not a bailer, after all. My bad, bro. You’ve been magnetic, energizing, and resilient — the rare eccentric QB who is pointing Steel City out of the darkness and into the lights.'”

He also apologized to Colts QB Daniel Jones and Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield, who are in the midst of career years this regular season — but his olive branch to Rodgers carries far more weight, as Cowherd hasn’t shied away from blasting the four-time MVP in the past.

Cowherd’s compliment, even if it was satirical, echoes a growing feeling throughout Steelers Nation — one that stems from offseason narratives and misconceptions about who Rodgers really is — and that’s a winner.
