The Green Bay Packers have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season, and they’ve done it without two talented young players. Christian Watson has been out all year after suffering a knee injury late last season, and Jayden Reed has been out since getting injured in Week 2.
While Green Bay has been able to address the absence, there are many signs that Watson will be back soon.
Watson’s brother took to social media on Monday to respond to speculation that the catcher would return to the field on Sunday. Packers Report ‘s Jacob Morley posted a photo of Watson and said, “soon.”
Watson’s brother, Tre, later confirmed the post, and when asked if he meant Sunday, which is Week 8, Tre shared a GIF that read “I like the way you think,” implying that his brother could make his season debut in Green Bay’s next game.

Christian Watson’s brother hints at Packers wide receiver’s return in Week 8
This would be great news for the Packers, who are eager to get one of their talented young players back on the field. Watson’s third season in the NFL was cut short after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Week 18 of the 2024 season. Despite the injury coming late in the season, the edge rusher returned to practice for Green Bay on October 6.
The Packers have had two games since then, and although Watson hasn’t played, he has practiced, suggesting a return is near . That return could come on Sunday Night Football , when Green Bay faces Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8.
Watson’s return to the field would be great for the Packers, but also great for the youngster, who is undoubtedly eager to continue his career.
In his first three years with the Packers, Watson played in 38 games, caught 98 passes for 1,653 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 15 runs for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He may need more time to get back into shape, but he will be an explosive option for the Packers when he returns.
