Matt LaFleur reveals hilariously simple answer to the Eagles' infamous tush push

Green Bay, Wisconsin – November 2025 Just hours before the Green Bay Packers take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a crucial late-season clash, a bombshell has rocked Titletown. Former Packers defensive lineman Letroy Guion – the 6-foot-4, 303-pound “monster” once handed a three-year, $11.25 million contract to anchor the middle of Green Bay’s defense in place of an injured B.J. Raji – was arrested early Monday morning on charges of substantial battery after allegedly beating a woman unconscious inside his Green Bay home.

Packers re-sign DT Letroy Guion to 3-year deal

The timing of the arrest has sent shockwaves through the Packers’ locker room and the entire NFL community. Sources close to the team say players and staff were informed of the news during morning meetings, leaving many stunned just as they prepared for one of the biggest games of the season.

Guion, who played for the Packers from 2014 to 2016, exploded onto the scene in 2014 with a career-high 3.5 sacks and earned praise from then-head coach Mike McCarthy as a “damn good football player” who brought fire and energy to the defensive line. His physical dominance and ability to clog running lanes made him a fan favorite and a key piece of Green Bay’s defensive rotation during the team’s playoff runs.

After multiple off-field incidents – including a 2015 arrest for felony possession of marijuana and a firearm – the Packers stood by Guion, re-signing him to that lucrative deal in 2016. But the relationship soured, and he was released following the 2016 season. Since then, Guion has been in and out of legal trouble, with prior domestic-violence convictions and probation violations.

According to the criminal complaint, Green Bay police responded to a 911 call shortly after 2 a.m. Monday. Officers found the victim incoherent and suffering from visible head injuries. She was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Guion was taken into custody without incident and is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst released a brief statement: “We are aware of the serious allegations against Letroy Guion. While he is no longer part of our organization, domestic violence has no place in our game or our society. Our thoughts are with the victim.”

Head coach Matt LaFleur, visibly shaken when asked about the arrest during his Monday press conference, kept his comments short: “It’s a tough situation for everyone involved. Right now, our focus has to be on preparing for the Eagles. That’s what we owe our fans.”

As the Packers try to keep their playoff hopes alive against a red-hot Philadelphia squad, the shadow of Guion’s arrest serves as another grim reminder of how quickly a once-promising NFL career can spiral into tragedy.
