BREAKING: The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly on the verge of a blockbuster move to acquire the Raiders’ superstar TE.-bebe

Maxx Crosby named most valuable player for Raiders this season

In the nonstop swirl of NFL trade deadline rumors, few names generate buzz like Maxx Crosby, the ferocious defensive end and emotional leader of the Las Vegas Raiders. With the Raiders stumbling at 2–5 and approaching the November 4, 2025 trade deadline, speculation has exploded online—this time linking Crosby to a surprising destination: the Philadelphia Eagles.

But does the rumor hold any truth? Or is it simply another fan-driven fantasy?

Where the rumor started

Talk of Crosby wanting out of Las Vegas intensified after the Raiders’ 35–10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on October 19, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium. Crosby, battling through back and knee pain, notched just one tackle in a frustrating outing. Cameras caught him slamming his helmet on the sideline, and social media instantly pounced.

Within minutes, fans were photoshopping Crosby in Eagles midnight green with captions like, “Give him a real shot at a Super Bowl.” Some Philly fans called him “the missing piece” for a defensive line already stacked with names like Jalen Carter, Haason Reddick, and Jordan Davis.

But there’s a problem—none of it is based on credible reporting.

NFL insiders like Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport have not linked Crosby to Philadelphia. Instead, early inquiries reportedly came from the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, though both were quickly dismissed by Raiders leadership.

Raiders’ stance: Crosby is untouchable

Raiders owner Mark Davis shut down rumors on October 17, telling The Athletic:

“There’s so much outside chatter that’s just not true. It’s not coming from us and it’s not happening.”

Team officials reportedly met with Crosby on October 21 to reaffirm their commitment to him. Crosby confirmed his loyalty a day later:

“I’m not trying to leave… I wanna be here, I wanna be silver & black. Loud and clear – I’m a Raider.”

The money problem

Even if the Eagles wanted Crosby, the financial challenge is massive. According to Spotrac, a trade would cost the Raiders $18 million in dead cap for 2025 and another $5.1 million in 2026.

Any team acquiring him would inherit a contract with escalating cap hits:

  • $20.3M in 2025 (guaranteed)

  • $30M in 2026 (guaranteed)

  • Up to $28M per year through 2029

The Eagles already pay premium contracts to players like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Hurts, and Lane Johnson. Taking on Crosby would require major restructures—or sacrificing key pieces.

And let’s be clear: Howie Roseman loves trades, but he also avoids cap traps unless long-term flexibility exists.

Would he fit in Philadelphia?

Absolutely—on paper.

Crosby has 7.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 18 QB hits this season. Pairing him with Carter, Reddick, Sweat, and Davis would give Philly the most terrifying front in the NFL. He fits the Eagles’ blue-collar identity: toughness, relentless energy, and leadership.

So why is it unlikely?

  • Raiders won’t trade their franchise player

  • Eagles would need to part with multiple 1st-round picks plus a starter

  • NFC contenders rarely get stronger via midseason blockbuster trades

Even analyst Brett Kollmann said:

“The price would be a king’s ransom—and I don’t see Vegas selling the face of their franchise.”

So, is there anything real here?

Not really.

This rumor wasn’t started by insiders—it came from fans on social media after seeing Crosby’s frustration against the Eagles. The story caught fire because:

  1. Philly loves aggressive trades

  2. Crosby is an elite player

  3. The Eagles are in win-now mode

But as Dianna Russini said this week:

“I’ve heard zero credible talk linking Maxx Crosby to Philadelphia.”

Final verdict

Could Maxx Crosby help the Eagles? Yes.
Is there any legitimate sign this trade will happen? No.
Will the rumors keep flying until the deadline? Absolutely.

For now, Crosby stays a Raider. But make no mistake—if the situation ever changes in Vegas, Howie Roseman will be the first GM on the phone.
