On Thursday, Purdy officially announced the opening of Freedom Ranch, a sprawling 150-acre sanctuary in Northern California, valued at over $6 million, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and abused horses.

“Some of these horses come from really heartbreaking situations,” Purdy explained. “Neglect, abuse, abandonment — they’ve been through it all. I knew that once I was in a position to help, I wanted to make a difference.”

That dream became reality as Purdy used a portion of his recent endorsement earnings and NFL contract to fund Freedom Ranch’s development. The sanctuary now includes state-of-the-art barns, open pastures, equine therapy facilities, and a full-time veterinary team.
