CHIEFS’ $80 MILLION STAR RESPONDS: After Facing Intense Criticism in First Three Weeks, Superstar Declares, “I Don’t Let Myself Be Influenced by Public Opinion” While Leading Team on Field. OCD

Kansas City, Missouri – October 22, 2025 – After a stormy start to the 2025 NFL season with a barrage of criticism for leading the league in penalties, Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor is proving the value of his $80 million contract with impressive performance in the last four games

.Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid Comforted Fans After Parade Shooting: 'He Was Being Real Nice'

Taylor, who signed a four-year, $80 million deal with the Chiefs in 2023 including $60 million guaranteed, faced heavy scrutiny for committing seven penalties in just the first three weeks, mostly false starts and holdings, making him the NFL leader in personal fouls.

However, since Week 4, Taylor has completely transformed, committing no penalties in four consecutive games, allowing only four pressures on the quarterback, and preventing any QB hits or sacks.

This form has played a crucial role in the Chiefs’ undefeated streak, effectively protecting quarterback Patrick Mahomes and maintaining their lead in the AFC West.

Head coach Andy Reid praised him as someone who doesn’t need to talk much, proving himself through performance, stating after the win over the Bills: “He’s not the type of player who makes excuses with words; he lets his performance on the field speak for itself. That day, I had something to do so I came back quite late, but surprisingly when passing by the gym, the lights were still on… and he was still diligently training. What happens on the field is completely deserved.”

In a recent interview, Taylor addressed his turnaround: “I don’t let myself be influenced by public opinion; I just focus on improving every day on the field, and the recent games have proven that my efforts are paying off.”

Film analysts like DMac Wake from X also agree, emphasizing that Taylor is becoming the “star tackle the Chiefs invested wisely in,” with the ability to shut down top pass rushers without needing help from teammates.

With the upcoming schedule, the Chiefs will face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, and Taylor is expected to continue maintaining his form to support the journey to defend the Super Bowl crown.

Taylor’s impressive comeback not only dispels doubts but also affirms that, sometimes, patience with a big star is the key to long-term success.
