Hall of Famer’s Son Rejects Patriots Practice Squad for Bills Workout — Believes Buffalo Bills Can Help Him Become a Star Like His Father… SOSAD

Shilo Sanders is ready to deliver big hits against opponents, then talk trash about it

Buffalo, NY – October 11, 2025
Shilo Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, has declined an offer to join the New England Patriots’ practice squad, choosing instead to pursue a workout with the Buffalo Bills, where he believes he can rise to stardom akin to his father’s legendary NFL career. The agreement with the Bills is contingent on a medical evaluation scheduled for early next week, leaving his immediate future uncertain.

Sanders brings a blend of talent and challenges. Known for his ball-hawking instincts, he also carries a history of injuries and off-field drama that have followed him throughout his career. Undrafted in 2025, Sanders briefly signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, appearing in three preseason games. His stint ended abruptly after an ejection against Buffalo for unnecessary roughness, resulting in his release on August 24.

Despite this setback, the Bills see significant potential in Sanders. During his college career at Colorado, he recorded 161 tackles, 11 interceptions, and six forced fumbles across 41 games, with his 2023 season highlighting his ability to generate turnovers and anchor a defense. His versatility—capable of playing safety, providing nickel coverage, and contributing on special teams—fits seamlessly into Buffalo’s defensive scheme.

Health remains a critical hurdle. Sanders suffered an ACL tear in 2022 and faced recurring injuries in 2024. The Bills’ medical team will evaluate whether he can withstand the physical demands of the NFL. Additionally, personal controversies, including legal disputes and family-related headlines, have sparked concerns about his focus. However, Buffalo’s coaching staff has a proven track record of guiding players with strong personalities.

Sanders is confident that Buffalo offers the ideal platform to unlock his potential. Sources close to the player reveal that he views the Bills’ dynamic defensive system and supportive environment as the perfect stage to emulate his father’s Hall of Fame legacy. By rejecting the Patriots’ practice squad offer, Sanders is betting on a more prominent role with the Bills to showcase his skills.

If Sanders clears the medical evaluation, joining the Bills could mark a turning point in his NFL journey. A successful tenure in Buffalo could stabilize his career and position him to emerge as a star, carrying forward the Sanders legacy in the league.
