DETROIT, Mich. — November 27, 2025 — The Green Bay Packers may have walked out of Ford Field with a 31–24 Thanksgiving victory, but their postgame locker room was far from celebratory after defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt suffered what appeared to be a significant leg injury in the fourth quarter.
Wyatt went down after a third-down stop when a teammate was pushed into the back of his leg, causing it to buckle awkwardly. Trainers rushed onto the field, and moments later, the cart was brought out — an ominous sign for a player who has been one of Green Bay’s most disruptive defenders this season.
But the moment that followed the final whistle told an even deeper story about the locker room’s bond.
Instead of staying outside to celebrate the win with teammates and enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, the teammate involved in the collision — defensive lineman Warren Brinson — quietly left the postgame table, grabbed a plate of turkey, and brought it straight to Wyatt in the training room.
Wyatt, speaking from the locker room afterward, made it clear he held no frustration and nothing but appreciation.
“He should’ve been out there celebrating the win with the team, but he came in to check on me instead,” Wyatt said. “This injury isn’t his fault — it was just two guys going all-out for the same goal. I really appreciate that.”
Wyatt’s injury casts a shadow over an otherwise statement win. The Packers improved to 8–4 with the victory, powered by Jordan Love’s strong second half and a defense that delivered critical stops late. For a team making a push toward the NFC playoff picture, losing its ascending defensive tackle would be a major blow.
Head coach Matt LaFleur said the team will conduct further tests when they return to Green Bay, adding only that Wyatt’s status is “concerning.”
Still, in a game defined by rivalry intensity, national spotlight, and playoff implications, the most powerful moment came afterward — two teammates, a plate of turkey, and a reminder of what bonds NFL locker rooms together.
Green Bay got the win. But today, their biggest hope is for Wyatt to get back on his feet.
