Packers WR Requests Time Off for One Practice Session Due to Annual Event of a Famous Food Brand, Helping the Hungry Have a Better Life Thanks to This “Miraculous” Thing. SADBOIZ

On the morning of December 9, 2025, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden missed practice to participate in a charity event with Sargento Foods. They presented donations to the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay as part of the annual Touchdowns for Hunger program. This initiative supports hunger relief in Wisconsin, with Sargento pledging $2,000 for each touchdown scored by the Packers during the season.

The event kicked off at Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay, where Matthew Golden, wearing his Packers jersey number 0, joined Sargento representatives and pantry staff for a check presentation. In the photo, Golden stands on the right, holding a large check for $25,000, next to the Sargento mascot—a fun animated cheese block with big eyes and a wide smile, giving a thumbs up. The group of four men, including Golden, smiles and poses in front of a yellow backdrop featuring the Sargento Touchdowns for Hunger and Paul’s Pantry logos. The atmosphere is cheerful with banners and food shelves in the background, emphasizing the mission to support the local community. Later, the event continued at the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee, where a Sargento representative held a $51,000 check beside a similar mascot, with green and gold balloons and a festive backdrop. Golden shared insights on the program’s importance, highlighting how each touchdown translates not just to points but to meals for those in need. Activities included group photos, interactions with volunteers, and discussions on the funds’ impact on food distribution. Now in its 23rd year, the program blends sports and philanthropy, drawing attention from local media like FOX6 and FOX11, with images spreading on social media.

In total, the 2025 Touchdowns for Hunger program raised $76,000, based on 38 touchdowns by the Packers. The funds were split between Hunger Task Force ($51,000) and Paul’s Pantry ($25,000), helping provide meals to thousands of families in Wisconsin.
