Meanwhile, second-year receiver Roman Wilson has quietly built a compelling case for promotion. Despite limited usage, he has turned 15 targets into 11 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns, maximizing every opportunity
The efficiency gap is enormous. Rodgers owns a 144.6 passer rating when throwing to Wilson, more than double his rating when targeting Austin, showcasing the reliability and playmaking Wilson brings to the offense.
Wilson has also impressed on special teams, flashing physicality and discipline as a gunner. Aside from one fumble in Week 9, he has been steady, focused, and ready for a larger offensive role.
With the offense struggling and the season slipping away, the Steelers cannot afford to keep waiting for Austin to regain form. A depth chart shake-up is no longer optional—it’s necessary for survival.
