Titans Hand Down Internal Discipline to Defensive Star for “Mocking” Mike Vrabel During Game vs. Patriots… SOSAD

Nashville, TN — The Tennessee Titans have issued internal discipline to defensive star Jeffery Simmons following his “crying face” gesture aimed at New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel during the 13–31 home loss at Nissan Stadium. The moment was captured on the game broadcast and quickly spread across social media, sparking debate about on-field conduct standards.

One day after the game, head coach Brian Callahan delivered a public message on behalf of the organization, underscoring discipline and respect for opponents. He said:

First, I want to offer an apology to Coach Mike Vrabel. That behavior does not reflect our values. The team has implemented appropriate internal discipline, and we are committed to ensuring nothing like this happens again with any other team.

Per club policy, the Titans did not disclose specifics of the discipline. However, team sources indicated the measures include a fine along with conduct-standards education. In addition, the coaching staff confirmed that Simmons exited early with a

hamstring injury and will be monitored throughout the week.

The incident occurred early in the game when Vrabel voiced frustration over a missed facemask call from the Patriots’ sideline; Simmons responded with a mocking gesture. While New England went on to control the contest, the Titans emphasized that the immediate priority is

restoring professionalismrespecting opponents, and upholding team culture at all times.

“We’re looking forward,” Callahan concluded. “The goal is to make amends, regroup, and show the true Titans identity next week.”
