Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles have officially ruled out three key players ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings — a major blow to both sides of the ball as they prepare for Sunday’s showdown.
Veteran guard Landon Dickerson, rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, and tight end Grant Calcaterra will all miss the game, according to Friday’s final injury report.
Dickerson continues to battle a
lingering ankle injury suffered in Week 5 and aggravated during practice before the Giants game. He missed Week 6 and has not progressed enough to return, leaving Brett Toth
as the expected starter at left guard once again.
Mitchell’s hamstring injury — sustained early in the Giants matchup — proved too limiting for the rookie to pass Friday’s tests. The Eagles will turn to
Kelee Ringo and Adoree’ Jackson
to hold down the perimeter against Minnesota’s fast-paced passing attack led by Justin Jefferson.
Meanwhile, Grant Calcaterra remains sidelined with an oblique strain
that has kept him out of practice for two straight weeks. The Eagles will rely heavily on
Dallas Goedert as the primary tight end, with Kylen Granson and Cameron Latu
rotating behind him.
This marks the first time this season that Philadelphia has ruled out multiple offensive starters and a defensive rookie in the same week — a test for the team’s depth and adaptability.
Head coach Nick Sirianni said the team is taking a cautious approach, prioritizing long-term health over short-term gains. “We want these guys right for the stretch run, not just for one game,”
he explained during his Friday press conference.
The Eagles enter Week 7 at 4–2, looking to keep pace in the NFC playoff race. But against a surging Vikings team, they’ll have to do it without three of their most trusted contributors.
