MATT LAFLEUR TAKES A STAND: PACKERS COACH TO CONFRONT OFFICIATING CREW OVER NON-CALLS ON MICAH PARSONS
Green Bay, Wis. â Turn on a Micah Parsons play, and the pattern is impossible to miss. Offensive linemen latch onto his jersey, hook his facemask, or grab whatever they can just to survive. And yet, week after week, the flags stay buried deep in the officialsâ pockets.
Itâs been a growing frustration in Green Bay â and this Sunday, Matt LaFleur plans to do something about it.

âThatâs definitely going to be a conversation pregame,â LaFleur said with a calm but firm tone after Fridayâs walkthrough. âWe just want it called fair. When itâs that blatant, itâs hard to ignore.â
The Green Bay Packersâ head coach isnât one for sideline theatrics, but sources inside the team say LaFleur has grown increasingly irritated by the lack of calls protecting his star edge rusher. Parsons, who currently holds Pro Football Focusâ second-best pass-rush grade among all defenders, has been practically mugged on the field in recent weeks â with little to no help from the refs.
The Packers arenât the first team to sound the alarm. During Parsonsâ time with the Dallas Cowboys, coaches voiced the same concerns, even submitting video evidence to the league office to highlight the egregious holds. LaFleur wouldnât confirm whether Green Bay has done the same but made it clear he plans to make officials aware before kickoff against the Arizona Cardinals.
âItâs frustrating when itâs blatant. Those should get called, right?â he said earlier this week.
For Parsons, the lack of penalties hasnât slowed him down â itâs just made his dominance more impressive. Despite constant double-teams and illegal blocks, he continues to wreck pockets, terrorize quarterbacks, and set the tone for a Packers defense thatâs quietly turning into one of the NFCâs best.
âImagine how much more dangerous heâd be if refs actually threw the flag,â one teammate joked.
With Kyler Murrayâs Cardinals visiting Lambeau Field on Sunday, LaFleurâs message to the officiating crew is clear: enough is enough.
âMicah plays the game the right way,â LaFleur said. âHe deserves the same fairness as anyone else. Thatâs all weâre asking for.â
If the calls finally come, the Packersâ defense might be downright unstoppable. If not, well â Micah Parsons will keep fighting anyway. Thatâs just what he does.
